THE NOOBS GUIDE TO ROLEPLAYING
Ok, so here is the lowdown on the Roleplaying Section (RP for short).
Once you sign up for an RP (More about that later) you will be able to create a character and use that character in a story that everyone writes together. There are several different stories, each one with it's own section.
In each section, you will find at least two things: A character list, and a storyline thread. You will know which one the storyline thread is because it will have the same name as the section. (example: the section is called "Adventure in the Arctic", so there will be a topic called "Adventure in the Arctic". That's the storyline thread.)
DO NOT POST COMMENTS IN THE STORYLINE THREAD!!!
So in the storyline thread goes... the story. There will be a post that gets the story going, and anyone can continue the story from there, using there character. You post a little bit, just enough to push the story forward a bit, and then leave it for someone else to finish.
Here's an example! Let's use the Hogwarts RP for example.
"Harry arrived once again at the huge front doors in front of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In many ways, this place had been his home more than any other. But something was different this year. Okay, two things were different: For one, Lord Voldemort was dead, once and for all. For the first time since he discovered that he was a wizard at eleven years old, the wizarding world was at peace and no one was trying to kill him. The second difference was, in many ways, just as important. Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione were a year behind everyone else. They had dropped out of Hogwarts the year before, and even though they had been offered the chance to graduate with their friends because of their role in Voldemort's eventual defeat, they all decided that the honorable thing to do was to finish their education properly.
So that is how Harry, Ron and Hermione, thought of by many to be heroes, ended up being a year older than anyone else in their grade. Harry could almost hear the snickers already.
As he walked in the Great Hall, he saw Ron and Hermione. But he also saw another face. A face that did not look happy to see him."
So then someone else would take over the scene from that point. They could be either Ron, Hermione, or the un-named "Face" that Harry saw. That person would write the next scene and so it continues...
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR AN RP
So I've got your interest, huh? Now you want to sign up, but don't know how. What you are going to do is find, in this section, the topic that matches the name of the RP you want to sign up for. look them all over, because they each have descriptions of what the storyline is going to be like. Once you found one (or more than one) that you want to join, reply to that topic. (Example: So if you want to join the Hogwarts RP, you reply to the topic "Hogwarts: The Lost Year".)
Then one of the Admins will magically put you in the hidden group that gives you access to the Hogwarts: The Lost Year (for example) section, which you can't see unless you are in that group.
The next thing to do is use your imagination to create your character. Try to come up with as much detail as you possibly can, because that will help out the other people in your RP write scenes involving your character. When you've created your character, add the whole description to the character list topic.
All that's left is to jump into the storyline topic and flex those creative muscles.
MISCELLANEOUS THINGS
What if you have something to say that doesn't fit in either the storyline topic or the Character list? Where can you post them?
Well, most often, you want to create a new topic in your section if it is related to your RP. Say you wanted to create a shop in the Anime RP, but you didn't know what kind of a shop everyone would want to have? (You want to make a popular shop so that people will want to go to it, right?) well, the best thing to do is make a new topic with a poll.
But say you want to ask one of the Mods a question? What do you do then? That is why there is a topic called the "Support Topic". Any old question can go in there, and the Mods will get you an answer!
So that should be everything you need to know!
